The RAD Jafar is a round nose funboard designed for ease of paddling and high wave count. It adores smaller waves, but can still hold its own on a head-high swell. It’s ideal for someone moving down in size from a mini mal, or the experienced surfer looking for a small wave go-to board. The full, rounded nose allows you to have your weight forward with less risk of nose-diving. Choose from a wide range of totally rad colours for your Jafar. Orders take about a month to complete.

RAD construction

R.A.D. stands for Research And Development. It allows us to test out new techniques and materials that then find their way into other new products. The RAD construction champions flax cloth, an all-natural material with similar properties to carbon fibre. The entire deck and finbox areas are quite literally mummified in flax, making this an incredibly durable and sustainable surfboard. It also gives the board a twisting flex that can be felt in turns.

All our constructions use an expanded polystyrene (EPS) core. Unlike traditional polyurethane (PU), this doesn’t degrade or yellow with UV exposure, neither does it take on water if the skin gets damaged. We glass our boards with bio epoxy resin, which is less harmful than traditional resins. We hand-make our leash plugs using Cornish applewood and a brass pin, which ages beautifully without losing its integrity. All our boards are hand-shaped with love and pride in our wind-powered workshop in Cornwall.
